I’m often amazed at how many great ideas a business can have when its people get together for a meeting. This is especially true when rabbit trails creep into the agenda.
We’re told that when someone veers from the topic at a meeting, we’re supposed to stop that person and get back to the task at hand. Well, that’s both true and false.

I was reading Seth Godin’s blog and in his February 19 posting, he said that having an HR department more or less puts people in the category of just another asset, like the copier, the press brake or the building.
Many companies’ top people (CEO, COO, CFO) see HR as a necessary evil for the company, i.e. a way to stay out of trouble.
